Creative Employment Mapping Program
This is one to look forward to if you'd like to know where we stand as a viable employement sector in this economic climate of cuts to arts and arts education.
Peter Higgs Senior research Fellow with ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries & Innovation (CCi) is carrying out a major study in where and how people are employed in the creative industires.
The objectives are:
1. To more accurately and consistently measure the employment and economic impact of those in Creative Employment across the economy by applying the CCI Creative Trident methodology to official census data.
2. Accumulate a range of census based employment data from 1991 onwards to provide a statistical resource that can readily be use to analyse data from new census periods, from new locations such as the UK or New Zealand, or at finer geographic scale such as comparisons between states.
You can see the details of this study due in June 2013 on the Australia Council Website
